What is Alpha?
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions, and share their point of view.
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome. It runs online, in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: connection, content, and conversation.
We'll be meeting at Brookswood Church each Thursday at 6:30 pm starting on September 24 to do Alpha together. If you are new to Brookswood Church, visiting, curious about Christianity, returning to or wrestling with faith, looking for community then Alpha is for you - we hope you'll join us!
Can't attend Thursdays at 6:30 pm? Go to the TryAlpha website to see where other Alpha groups are gathering near you!
What does an Alpha Session look like?
Connection
At each 2-2.5 hour session, there is a time of connection over refreshments and/or drinks, where possible.
Content
The time of connection is followed by a talk on a subject central to the Christian faith. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
